The Omaha Storm Chasers knocked off the Spokane River Rats, 5-3. Omaha starter Pete J. Smith pitched well enough to earn top player honors. Even with the win, the Storm Chasers have a dismal 8-19 record.

The Storm Chasers beat the River Rats with some clutch hitting. The home run by Pablo Martinez in the bottom of the second is a good example. With two down, Martinez gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he came through with the big hit.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Martinez.
