Brass Come Back Late to Clip Tarantulas
New Orleans Brass starter LaTroy Hawkins was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Tucson Tarantulas, 5-3. New Orleans reliever Brent Knackert picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Ron Mahay absorbed the loss. Earning his 10th save of the year was Mark Brandenburg.

A decisive at-bat came in the top of the eighth inning. With the bases empty, the batter, Mike R. Fitzgerald, hit a solo home run. It made the score 4-3, New Orleans, and helped them go on to win.

"We did a lot of things right," said Hawkins.

The Brass have an impressive 19-9 record.
