Chukars Win at New Orleans, 7-5
|
New Orleans right fielder Jose L Cruz had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-5, to Idaho Falls at Bay Hawks Ballpark. Cruz was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Idaho Falls, at 16-15, sits in third place in the Pacific Central.
The Chukars used some clutch hitting to beat the Brass, a good example being the at-bat of Wayne Kirby in the top of the seventh. With two down, Kirby gave his team the lead, 5-3, when he hit a 2-run single.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Kirby.
