Helling Hurls Complete Game at Foxes Ballpark
|
Tucson had no answer for Spokane River Rats hurler Rick Helling, who overwhelmed Tarantulas hitters as the River Rats coasted to a 6-1 victory. Spokane has now won 3 in a row.
Helling, who dominated for Spokane, earned the victory to move to 3-3. He was in control the whole game, scattering 5 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 8. Tucson batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Helling told the Spokane Bulletin. "It's as simple as that."
