Matoba Hits 2 home runs in Sky Fox Win
|
Colorado Springs second baseman Naoki Matoba was a significant contributor in his team's 6-4 triumph over the Omaha Storm Chasers. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for Colorado Springs. Antonio Alfonseca closed the door for Colorado Springs, picking up his 2nd save of the year. Omaha's current losing streak is now 5 games.
With two out in the top of the first, Hiroki Kokubo had a game-changing hit. The Sky Fox shortstop slammed a run-scoring single off Mark Leiter, making the score 3-0, Colorado Springs.
"Nice to get this one," said Kokubo. "Wins have been hard to come by."
