Sounds Win at Tucson, 8-5
|
The Nashville Sounds defeated the Tucson Tarantulas, 8-5. Earning player of the game honors was shortstop Alex S Gonzalez, who was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs. The Sounds bumped their record to 17-16 with this latest triumph.
It could have been a different outcome for Nashville, had it not been for Masahiro Kawai, the 20-year old shortstop . Kawai contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Nashville up, 6-4.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Kawai said. "We did a good job of that today."
