Tucson third baseman Ray Giannelli had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 11-8, to Nashville at Ballpark of Louisville. Giannelli was 2 for 3 with a triple, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The win was credited to Matt Mantei in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Bill Caudill took the loss. Nashville is in 5th place in the Pacific Central with a record of 18-16.
The Sounds got a big at-bat from center fielder Joe Hall. For the game, Hall was 2-5 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 10th double of the season gave Nashville a 11-8 lead.
