Warriors Turn Back Colorado Springs, 7-5
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Darrell Sherman, the Walla Walla Warriors defeated the Colorado Springs Sky Fox, 7-5. Sherman went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Warriors. With the win, Walla Walla has a record of 18-20. Colorado Springs falls to 10-28.
Sherman had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a full count fastball from Jose Melendez, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Warriors a 7-5 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Sherman.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Sherman.
