Boston rode a decent outing from starter Pete Harnisch to victory over the Kansas City Royals at Fenway Park. The final score was 3-2. Boston, now 8-13, is off to a slow start.
Edgar Renteria, who is tied for 3rd in the FL in triples with 2, helped out the Boston cause in the bottom of the 12th inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the third baseman was 2-5 with 2 singles.
Kansas City manager Daniel Drucker said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
