The San Antonio Missions got a superb performance from shortstop Damian Jackson. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Idaho Falls. The Chukars won the game, 8-6. In spite of the loss, Jackson was named the player of the game. He was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Jim Pittsley got credit for the win, improving to 3-4. He allowed 3 runs on 9 hits in 5.1 innings. Earning his 1st save of the year was Bill Sampen.

Idaho Falls designated hitter Dwight Smith contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a slider into right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 47th hit of the season and put the Chukars ahead, 6-2.

"We came out aggressive," said Chukars manager . "We came out swinging the bats."

The Chukars improved to 21-17.
