Goodwin goes 4-for-4 as Brass Squeeze Past Round Rock
In a tight contest at Alleycats Ballpark, the New Orleans Brass edged the Round Rock Express by the score of 10-9. New Orleans left fielder Tom Goodwin, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. New Orleans reliever Jimmy Jones picked up the win to move to 2-1. Tavo Alvarez suffered the loss. Picking up the save was Mark Brandenburg, his 13th.

The Brass got a big at-bat from center fielder Marvin Benard. For the game, Benard went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave New Orleans a 10-8 lead.

"We got the victory," said Benard. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

Round Rock has now lost 5 straight.
