River Rats Jolt Tarantulas with Late Rally
The Spokane River Rats turned back the Tucson Tarantulas, 6-5, at Foxes Ballpark. Brian Kowitz was named player of the game for his fine performance. He was 1 for 2 with 2 walks. Getting the save was Mike Magnante, his 9th. Spokane is now 16-20, Tucson 18-18.

The River Rats beat the Tarantulas with some clutch hitting. The single by Shannon Penn in the bottom of the eighth is a good example. With two down, Penn gave his team the lead, 6-5, when he came through with the big hit.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Kowitz said after the game.
