Valentin Slugs Cardinals to 7-3 Win
The St. Louis Cardinals topped the New York Yankees, 7-3, with shortstop John Valentin playing a big role. Valentin hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Cardinals in the win. The Yankees fall to 9-12 and continue their unimpressive start to the 1994 season.

Valentin in the top of the second had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and the Cardinals leading 1-0, he hit a 2-run home run.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Valentin said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
