Giles Slugs Cardinals to 7-4 Win
The St. Louis Cardinals grabbed a 7-4 win over the Orlando Sun Rays at Orlando Citrus Bowl. St. Louis designated hitter Brian S Giles was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 to earn player of the game honors. Terry Mulholland went 8 innings for St. Louis to pick up the win. The left-hander was charged with 4 earned runs. He scattered 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. His record improves to 2-1. The Sun Rays fall to 7-14 and continue their unimpressive start to the 1995 season.

With the clubs tied 4-4 in the top of the seventh and a runner on 3rd, St. Louis sent Giles to the plate. He got a full count fastball and hit a 2-run home run, to put the Cardinals on top, 6-4.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Giles said.
