Tarantulas Bang Out 6-2 Win Versus Colorado Springs
|
The 1997 season is getting ugly for Colorado Springs.
The Tucson Tarantulas beat the Colorado Springs Sky Fox, 6-2, at Ballpark of Louisville. Bip Roberts was recognized as player of the game for his performance. He was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The top prospect was a menace to Colorado Springs all day. Rick Krivda, credited with the win, is now 7-1. He allowed 2 runs on 9 hits in 8.2 innings.
Roberts came through with some timely hitting for Tucson. With the score 0-0 in the bottom of the third and one down, Roberts hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring double. His 9th double of the season made it 1-0, Tucson.

Tucson leads the Pacific West by 2½ games.
