Smith Tags Storm Chasers for 5 Hits
|
All game long, Idaho Falls's Dwight Smith was rattling the walls at Maples Stadium and banging out base hits against the Omaha Storm Chasers. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Chukars had a 22-8 victory.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 33-year-old left fielder said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."
Dwight Smith singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run double in the 6th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 8th.
Smith is presently hitting at a .341 pace with 8 home runs and 36 RBIs. He has played in 42 games and scored 37 times.
