Victory Pushes Chukars Record to 26-18
|
The Idaho Falls Chukars bested the Omaha Storm Chasers, 11-5, at Maples Stadium. Les Norman was named player of the game. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Idaho Falls reliever Jeff Schwarz picked up the win to move to 2-0. Calvin Maduro suffered the loss. At 26-18, Idaho Falls is in second place in the Pacific Central.
Idaho Falls needed the clutch hitting of Mark Lewis to notch the win. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Chukars on top, 2-0. For the game, Lewis had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager said.
