Warriors Bang Out 12-5 Win Versus Spokane
Walla Walla played host to Spokane at the friendly confines of Ballpark of Milton.

The Walla Walla Warriors stopped the Spokane River Rats, 12-5, behind an impressive performance from Darrell Whitmore. The 26-year old left fielder made life miserable for Spokane pitching. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Kirk McCaskill picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-3. He struck out 13 in 9 innings.

With two out in the bottom of the fifth, Chris Turner had a game-changing hit. The Warriors catcher slammed a 2-run single off Larry Luebbers, making the score 6-4, Walla Walla.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Whitmore told reporters after the game.

The third-place Warriors are now 21-22, the River Rats 18-25.
