Starting pitcher Greg Keagle pitched well enough to help the Tacoma Rainiers beat the Tucson Tarantulas by the score of 5-3. Tavo Alvarez earned the save for Tacoma, his 4th. Tacoma goes to 17-26, Tucson to 27-16.

Tacoma grabbed a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth when Mario Valdez hit a run-scoring single. For the day, Valdez was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
