Warriors Deal River Rats Painful Loss
The Walla Walla Warriors downed the Spokane River Rats, 8-7, at Ballpark of Milton. Todd Steverson led the way, going 3-for-4 for Walla Walla. Walla Walla reliever Terry Mathews picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-3. Curt Schmidt was collared with the loss. Walla Walla is now 22-22, Spokane 18-26.

With one out in the bottom of the ninth, Allen Battle had a game-changing hit. The Warriors right fielder slammed a 2-run single off Marc Valdes, making the score 8-7, Walla Walla.

"We found a way to get it done," Steverson said.
