Victory Pushes Missions Record to 28-15
|
The San Antonio Missions got a stellar performance from pitcher Kevin Gross, who handcuffed the Tucson offense en route to a 8-2 win at Texans Stadium. The third-place Missions now have a 11-game winning streak.
With runs few and far between, the Missions had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for San Antonio came in the bottom of the fourth inning, when shortstop Shawon Dunston delivered a run-scoring double. The double was hit off Rick Krivda and made the score 2-0, Missions. Dunston was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Gross.
