Marrero, Sounds Too Much for Storm Chasers

The Nashville Sounds beat the Omaha Storm Chasers, 8-1, at Maples Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of center fielder Eli Marrero, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Paul Wilson picked up the win with 8.2 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 9. On the season, he is now 5-1. The 4th-place Sounds have won 4 in a row.
It could have been a different outcome for Nashville, had it not been for Adam Riggs, the 24-year old second baseman . Riggs contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the second inning to put Nashville up, 2-0.
"I really like what we did out there today," Riggs said after the game.
