Sounds Nip Storm Chasers, 4-3
|
The Nashville Sounds picked up a win at Maples Stadium, knocking off the Omaha Storm Chasers, 4-3. Starting pitcher Tony Saunders, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Chad Fox closed the game out for Nashville, earning his 8th save. Nashville has now won 5 in a row.
Nashville relied on the hitting of Danny Bautista to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Sounds on top, 3-0. For the game, Bautista had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Saunders told the Nashville Today.
