Cubs Top Rangers Behind Tomlin, 5-0
|
Chicago left-hander Randy Tomlin made an effective start against the Texas Rangers at Wrigley Field, leading his team to a 5-0 win. The Rangers fall to 7-16 and continue their unimpressive start to the 1994 season.
Tomlin earned the win, going 7.1 strong innings for Chicago. The native of Bainbridge, Georgia allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 7. Texas hitters did next to nothing against the left-hander.
"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Tomlin told the Chicago Chronicle. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
