Warriors Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Brass
|
Lloyd Moseby had a good game, but he could not keep the New Orleans Brass from falling, 8-5, to the Walla Walla Warriors at Bay Hawks Ballpark. The New Orleans right fielder went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the loss. Jason Grimsley picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 9 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 3-6. Terry Mathews picked up the save for Walla Walla, his 12th of the year.
A key moment came in the top of the sixth inning when Warriors catcher Chris Turner socked a full count splitter to right for a run-scoring double, putting Walla Walla up, 5-4.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Turner.
The win puts the Warriors at 28-28, while the Brass drop to 39-17.
