Tarantulas Score Late to Upend Brass, 8-3
|
The Tucson Tarantulas defeated the New Orleans Brass, 8-3, at Bay Hawks Ballpark today. Leading the charge for Tucson was designated hitter Reggie Jefferson. He went 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Reliever Bill Caudill picked up the win. His record improves to 3-3. Tim Davis took the loss. The third-place Tarantulas lifted their record to 31-29.
Tucson used the clutch hitting of Dave Valle to capture the win. The catcher drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Tarantulas the lead, 4-3. For the game, Valle had 2 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"It feels good to get this one," Valle told the Tucson Daily.
