Streaking Missions Win Another One
|
The 1997 season is getting ugly for Colorado Springs.
The San Antonio Missions defeated the Colorado Springs Sky Fox, 6-2, in Pacific action at Motors Ballpark, with San Antonio pitcher Jeff Pico named player of the game. Pico picked up the win for San Antonio , going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 5-2.
San Antonio first baseman Bill Doran helped his team take an early lead. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Pico, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The Missions, at 34-26, have now won 6 straight.
