Pirates Get Past Cleveland for 8-7 Win
The Pittsburgh Pirates topped the Cleveland Spiders by the score of 8-7, with the biggest share of the credit going to catcher Charles Johnson. Johnson was 1-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Pirates on the day. The Spiders fall to 10-13 and continue their lackluster start to the 1995 season.

The Pirates used some clutch hitting to beat the Spiders, a good example being the at-bat of Dwayne Hosey in the top of the eighth. With two down, Hosey gave his team the lead, 8-7, when he hit a run-scoring single.

"Winning is contagious," said Hosey. "We're looking forward to the next game."
