Berry Leads Tarantulas to Win
|
Behind a solid performance from right fielder Sean Berry, the Tucson Tarantulas defeated the Salt Lake City Buzz, 9-3. Berry was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 4 runs for the Tarantulas. Rick Krivda was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 1 strikeout. The Tarantulas move to 34-31 with the win, while the Buzz drop to 10-55.
Reggie Jefferson, who is tied for 7th in the PAC in doubles with 17, contributed to the Tucson win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 4 RBI.
"Enjoyed this one," Jefferson told the Tucson Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
