Hawkins Fashions Shutout Against Storm Chasers
LaTroy Hawkins of the New Orleans Brass spun his magic on the Omaha Storm Chasers today. He blanked them 7-0 on 2 hits, registering 2 strikeouts and 1 walk.

"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Hawkins said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."

Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, New Orleans skipper said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."

"LaTroy pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.

This year Hawkins has gone 5-1 with an ERA of 4.62 and has 53 strikeouts in 85.2 innings.
