The Colorado Springs Sky Fox got a sterling performance from shortstop Hiroki Kokubo, but the River Rats still prevailed, 6-4. Kokubo was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Spokane reliever Ricky Trlicek was credited with the win, to go to 5-1. Curtis King took the loss for Colorado Springs. Matt Whisenant was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 14 of 17 save opportunities.

Spokane took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Billy Ashley stroked a 3-run home run to make it 6-4, River Rats.

"Enjoyed this one," Ashley told the Spokane Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

The losing streak for Colorado Springs has now reached 5 games.
