The Kansas City Royals downed the Chicago Cubs, 11-1, at Royals Stadium. The Royals were led by Jeromy Burnitz, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. Hopes are already high for the Royals this season and wins like this do nothing but raise expectations even more.

Burnitz put Kansas City up, 3-0, when he hit a 2-run home run off Eric King in the bottom of the first. His 6th home run of the season helped the Royals capture the win.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Kansas City manager Daniel Drucker.
