Lazy Fisherman Beat Visiting Storm Chasers, 8-1
|
Naperville center fielder Denny Hocking made his presence felt in the 8-1 Lazy Fisherman triumph over the Omaha Storm Chasers. Hocking was 1-3 with 2 walks, while scoring 3 times. Naperville starter Charles Nagy was credited with the win after throwing 76 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 9-4. With the win over Omaha, the Lazy Fisherman improved to 42-32.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Carlos C. Maldonado didn't flinch. With a runner on 2nd and Omaha trailing 2-1, Maldonado retired Javier Valentin to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Maldonado, with a wink.
