The Spokane River Rats knocked off the Tacoma Rainiers, 6-2, at Premont Grounds. Doug Brady, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Spokane won. The first baseman went 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Spokane reliever Matt Whisenant was the winner. His record is now 3-3. Tavo Alvarez took the loss. The Rainiers, at 26-47, have lost 12 in a row.

Late-game drama came in the top of the tenth inning. With no one out and the bases loaded, the batter, Doug Brady, hit a 2-run single. It helped Spokane seize the win.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Brady.
