Storm Chasers Score Late, Stun Chukars, 4-3
|
Idaho Falls got a terrific performance from pitcher Jim Pittsley, but it wasn't enough to beat the Omaha Storm Chasers. Omaha won the Alleycats Ballpark contest, 4-3. Pittsley was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball. Omaha reliever Matt Turner picked up the win to move to 4-3. Ralph Citarella suffered the loss. Tony J. Castillo converted his 14th save in 15 tries.
The Omaha triumph was a team effort. Not least among the contributors was Kerwin Moore. In the top of the ninth, the Omaha center fielder hit a run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 4-3 lead.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Moore said.
The losses continue to mount for Idaho Falls, which has now dropped 8 in a row.
