Missions Come Back Late to Top Sounds
|
The San Antonio Missions defeated the Nashville Sounds, 6-4, in Pacific action at Red Devils Stadium, with San Antonio second baseman Luis Sojo named player of the game. The win was Mauro Gozzo's in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Tom Martin took the loss for Nashville. Terry Mulholland notched his 7th save in 7 chances.
Sojo in the top of the fourth had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and the Missions trailing 4-0, he hit a bases-clearing double.
Sojo said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
San Antonio occupies second place in the Pacific Central at 44-32.
