Missions Get One-Run Win at Nashville
|
Nashville second baseman Adam Riggs had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Riggs went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, even as San Antonio beat the Sounds, 3-2. Riggs was named the player of the game despite the loss. San Antonio reliever Bob Scanlan was credited with the win, to go to 4-1. Esteban Loaiza took the loss for Nashville. Terry Mulholland earned the save for San Antonio , his 8th of the year.
It could have been a different outcome for San Antonio , had it not been for Scott Livingstone, the slick-fielding third baseman . Livingstone contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put San Antonio up, 2-1.
Afterward, Missions manager was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
Nashville, at 39-38, has lost 4 straight.
