Rainiers Get Close Win Over Tarantulas
Ballpark of Louisville was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Tacoma Rainiers and the Tucson Tarantulas.

Getting a good performance from shortstop Chad Fonville, the Tacoma Rainiers defeated the Tucson Tarantulas, 6-5. Fonville went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI for the Rainiers. Tacoma reliever Mike Mohler picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Keith Foulke took the loss.

The most crucial at-bat for Tacoma came in the top of the ninth inning. That's when Fonville stroked a first pitch changeup to center for a run-scoring single, putting Tacoma up, 5-4.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Fonville.

With the win, Tacoma goes to 28-49, while the Tarantulas fall to 43-34.
