Sky Fox Come Back Late, Nip Buzz
|
The Colorado Springs Sky Fox faced a tough opponent in Salt Lake City pitcher Mike Oquist, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Bella Vista Grounds by a final score of 2-1. Oquist went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The Sky Fox raised their record to 27-49.
The Sky Fox got a big at-bat from left fielder Steve Pegues. For the game, Pegues went 1-4. In the top of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 78th hit of the season gave Colorado Springs a 2-1 lead.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Pegues. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
