Victory Over Chukars Takes Spokane to 49-29
Fans who gathered at Alleycats Ballpark saw a good contest between the Spokane River Rats and Idaho Falls Chukars.

Spokane right-hander Jaret Wright pitched his team to victory over the Idaho Falls Chukars at Alleycats Ballpark. The final score was 6-4. Wright got the win, improving to 6-4. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. Wright allowed 4 earned runs.

The Chukars had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the River Rats going into the top of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old center fielder Gene Kingsale came to the plate. Kingsale hit a run-scoring double on a 1-1 fastball from Idaho Falls hurler Jeff Schwarz. It was Kingsale's 19th double of the year.

"I liked his command," said Spokane manager . "Jaret was throwing strikes."

The River Rats have now won 4 straight.
