Cuyler Powers Sky Fox to 5-3 Win
|
The Colorado Springs Sky Fox trumped the Tacoma Rainiers, 5-3, at Premont Grounds. Colorado Springs left fielder Milt Cuyler was named player of the game for his performance. He was 4-5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Colorado Springs reliever Heath Murray was credited with the win, to go to 3-1. Greg Keagle took the loss for Tacoma. Antonio Alfonseca got the save, his 7th in 12 chances.
In the top of the first, Cuyler pounced on a 1-0 sinker from Greg Keagle and hit a 3-run home run. It put Colorado Springs on top, 3-0.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Cuyler. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The win puts the Sky Fox at 29-51, while the Rainiers drop to 30-50.
