Buzz Win at San Antonio , 8-5
|
The Salt Lake City Buzz topped the San Antonio Missions by the score of 8-5, with the largest share of the credit going to second baseman Arquimedez Pozo. Pozo was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Buzz. Salt Lake City reliever Greg McCarthy picked up the win to move to 2-2. Jason Jacome suffered the loss. The Buzz improved to 41-37.
Brian Johnson had a big 2-run single for the Buzz in the top of the seventh inning. With Salt Lake City leading 4-3 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a slider from Jason Jacome and stroked the single to center. It was his 65th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Buzz ahead, 6-3.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Pozo said.
