The Salt Lake City Buzz handed the San Antonio Missions a sound defeat, 11-3, at Texans Stadium. Dave Staton was a main contributor to the win. He went 4-5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for Salt Lake City. Tyler Green, the winner, improved to 5-6. He held the Missions to 1 earned run on 2 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Salt Lake City is now 42-37, San Antonio 45-34.

In the top of the fifth, with Salt Lake City leading 1-0, Brian Johnson hit a slider from Jay Tibbs for a grand slam home run, giving the Buzz the lead, 5-0.
