Rainiers Topple Buzz with Late Rally
|
Benefiting from Jose Guillen's productive game, the Tacoma Rainiers downed the Salt Lake City Buzz, 6-4. Guillen went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Rainiers. The win was credited to Kevin Wickander in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Greg McCarthy took the loss. The Rainiers raised their record to 31-52.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Guillen delivered big-time for Tacoma, stroking a dramatic 3-run home run off Greg McCarthy. The game-changing hit put the Rainiers on top, 6-3.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Guillen told the Tacoma Observer.
