The New Orleans Brass defeated the Tucson Tarantulas, 5-1, at Bay Hawks Ballpark. Cecil Espy was named player of the game for New Orleans. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double, in addition to the 1 run he scored and 2 he knocked in. The win was Gar Finnvold's in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Bob Wolcott took the loss for Tucson. New Orleans currently is in first place in the Pacific Central at 50-35.

New Orleans took a 3-1 lead on Espy's 17th double of the season. The 2-run double, which he hit off Bob Wolcott in the bottom of the seventh, propelled New Orleans to the win.
