Buzz Beat Storm Chasers in 10
|
The Bella Vista Grounds faithful were treated to a thrilling, walk-off win.
The Salt Lake City Buzz knocked off the Omaha Storm Chasers, 5-3, at Bella Vista Grounds. Dave Staton, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Salt Lake City won. The first baseman went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The win was credited to Todd Frohwirth in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Troy Percival took the loss.
Staton had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the tenth. On a 2-2 curveball from Troy Percival, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Buzz a 5-3 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Staton.
"Exciting game to play in," said Staton. "Getting the win makes it even better."
Even with the win, the Buzz have a dismal 12-74 record.
