Sky Fox Get Road Win, 6-5
|
Idaho Falls center fielder Les Norman was sensational. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Colorado Springs beat the Chukars, 6-5. Norman was named the player of the game despite the loss. Colorado Springs reliever Antonio Alfonseca picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Eric Nolte was saddled with the loss. The Sky Fox now have a mark of 31-53.
The result might have been different for Colorado Springs, had it not been for Steve Pegues. The right fielder produced a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Sky Fox ahead, 6-5. For the game, Pegues had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Pegues told the Colorado Springs Herald.
