Brass Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
The San Antonio Missions got a sterling performance from right fielder Karim Garcia, but the Brass still prevailed, 8-7. Garcia was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. Mark Brandenburg picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Heathcliff Slocumb was tagged with the loss. New Orleans now has a 3-game win streak.
Manuel Lee was a prime factor in the win for the Brass. In the bottom of the tenth with two out, the slick-fielding shortstop hit a walk-off run-scoring single. He went 4 for 6 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.
"This game tested our mettle," said Lee.
