Brass Lose, 5-1, at Ballpark of Milton
|
It was a fun time at Ballpark of Milton, where the New Orleans Brass and Walla Walla Warriors tangled.
The Walla Walla Warriors got a stellar performance from pitcher Ugueth Urbina, who handcuffed the New Orleans offense en route to a 5-1 win at Ballpark of Milton. Urbina picked up the win for Walla Walla, going 6.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 6-7. Curt Leskanic, credited with the save, is now 5 for 10 in save opportunities.
The Warriors beat the Brass with some clutch hitting. The single by Darrell Sherman in the bottom of the fifth is a good example. With two down, Sherman gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he came through with the big hit.
"Everything felt in sync," said Urbina.
The Warriors now have a record of 38-50 with the win over New Orleans.
