Spokane catcher Mark Dalesandro had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Dalesandro was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, even as San Antonio beat the River Rats, 8-7. Dalesandro was named the player of the game despite the loss. Terry Mulholland got the save, his 10th in 11 chances. The Missions bumped their record to 50-38 with this latest triumph.

Troy Neel played a key role in the win for the Missions. The shortstop punched a 3-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning. For the game, Neel went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

In postgame comments to the San Antonio Chronicle, Neel said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
