Mieske Excels, But Missions Win
|
The Nashville Sounds got a superb performance from left fielder Matt Mieske. Still, it wasn't enough to beat San Antonio . The Missions won the game, 17-9. In spite of the loss, Mieske was named the player of the game. He went 4-5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The Missions bumped their record to 55-33 with this latest triumph.
Tom M. Foley had a big 2-run single for the Missions in the bottom of the first inning. With San Antonio leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Esteban Loaiza and stroked the single to right. It was his 67th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Missions ahead, 4-0.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said San Antonio skipper .
