Rainiers Lose, 10-6, at Bay Hawks Ballpark

The first-place New Orleans Brass welcomed Tacoma to Bay Hawks Ballpark.
The New Orleans Brass topped the Tacoma Rainiers, 10-6, at Bay Hawks Ballpark. New Orleans center fielder Cecil Espy earned player of the game honors. He banged out 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 4 runs. Dave Fleming, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 3.1 innings.
Espy came through with some timely hitting for New Orleans. With the score 3-3 in the bottom of the fourth and one down, Espy hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. His 117th hit of the season made it 4-3, New Orleans.
"I felt good up there," said Espy. "I saw the ball well."
The Brass, at 55-35, have now won 6 straight.
