Rainiers Bang Out 7-5 Win Versus New Orleans
|
Tacoma and New Orleans duked it out at Bay Hawks Ballpark and the Rainiers came out victorious.
Dion James made an impact in the 7-5 Tacoma win over New Orleans. James, who leads the PAC with a .952 OPS, was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. Tavo Alvarez converted his 9th save in 11 tries.
Tacoma first baseman Tim Hyers had a key at-bat for the Rainiers in the top of the seventh inning. Facing left-hander Luis Aquino, Hyers hit a 2-run double. It put Tacoma in front, 6-4. For the day, Hyers went 2-4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," James told the Tacoma Observer. "It's as simple as that."
The Rainiers now have a record of 35-56.
