Rangers Double Up Chicago, 4-2
|
The Texas Rangers got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Phil Leftwich, but it was good enough for the club to take a 4-2 decision over the Chicago Cubs. Texas, now 8-17, is off to a slow start.
It could have been a different outcome for Texas, had it not been for Mike Lansing, the 26-year old shortstop . Lansing contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put Texas up, 4-1.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Leftwich told a Texas Herald reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
