Victory Over Cubs Takes Kansas City to 15-9
|
Ray Lankford left his imprint on the 10-2 Kansas City win against the Chicago Cubs. Lankford, who is tied for 4th in the FL in runs scored with 19, went 3-5 with a triple and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Rheal Cormier, credited with the win, is now 3-1. He allowed 2 runs on 8 hits in 9 innings. At 15-9, the Royals have played well so far.
With Kansas City leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Lankford hit a changeup from Scott Chiamparino for a 2-run triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Royals ahead, 3-0.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Lankford. "But I like how we're playing right now."
